I’m not exactly sure why, but probably because functioning heat louvers.

The hood louvers are probably one of the few things still functioning.

And the seats are like getting hugged by a fat angel.

I really liked the 5.9 limited when it came out. It was very quick (for the time) and comfy and had a great look to it; special but not obnoxious. Went through front tires fast though, or all tires if you rotated them properly.

“Special but not obnoxious" is the perfect description for it (also for all of my favorite cars). Sadly it was only available for one year. Was it any good offroad?

Were the 5.9 unreliable?

I did not have the 5.9, mine was a standard 4.0, but red, so it FELT faster

It was just as good as the other of its ilk (zj). It was tough and had permanent 4wd as standard but not the fancier quadradrive of the later years. A WJ with the I6 and quadradrive is the holy grail of old GC’s for ability.

Grand Cherokees of that era weren’t especially known for reliability in general.

The seat base cushion is a good 6" deep.

There are plenty of awesome American cars, like the Accord and Camry :)

My family had owned many jeeps in the late 90s/early 00s and the grand Cherokee was the one that ended that relationship.

Also, it has a super mean sounding stock exhaust.

You can run that engine on shit gas and it won’t complain. However don’t dare look at the transmission wrong or it’ll puke up its guts right then and there

I can’t recall but the grand Cherokee in general is a poorly made platform. Previous xj was much better.

Isn’t that true of Chrysler in general, across most eras?

It’s all relative.
